The Food Pantry that we support at St. John’s, Dover continues to serve hungry people all summer long – especially when kids are out of school and not receiving school breakfast and lunch. You may bring your donations on Sunday mornings when they will be blessed at worship. We may also leave non-perishable food any time in the side entrance of the Church (facing Basking Ridge Road) in the food barrrel. Thanks for your help in feeding hungry people!
We are expanding our food pantry ministry, becoming a partner agency with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). This will take two forms: assembling single meal take-out bags for the homeless, as well as increasing our pantry staples donations for people who have housing in Dover – a very under-served area.
Look for more information about this ministry and the ways you can participate in it soon.
Summer Choir - We’ll be having an informal summer choir on August 30. Show up at 9:15 to rehearse the anthem and then sing for the 10 am service. This will be a great time to “try on” choir – either for the day or as an intro to next fall. We are always happy to have new choir members! If you've always wanted to learn to sing or learn more about music, this is a great way to do that.
Interested? Please speak to Alison Siener Brown.
Bible Study meets Wednesdays, 10:15-11:30 am in the Rath House.
We're on break until August 26. We are using a book to guide our study: Bible Women, All Their Words and Why They Matter, by Lindsay Hardin Freeman. This is a great book to read with the group or on your own. We are always happy to have new people join us.
Questions? Please speak to Mother Vicki.
