MUSIC MINISTRY
Thank you to everyone who helped with our concert last Sunday to benefit the Window Restoration Fund – especially to Alison and our choirs! It was a wonderful event with great music, many friends and visitors, and delicious food at the reception. We raised $8,222 to start our Window Restoration Fund!
All Saints’ has been given a wonderful gift – the donation of a newly re-condintioned Bechstein baby grand piano for our choir room! It is a donation from our piano technician David Thomson of Thomson Piano Works in Chatham. Not only will this gift support our choir rehearsals and Alison’s private and group music classes, but it allows the spinet piano form the choir room to be moved over to the Parish Hall for use there. Parishioners are always invited to come to the choir room in the Undercroft and take a look. Thank you, David, for this wonderful and generous gift!
PRAYER & A PARTY
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper: March 5, 5:30-7:30 pm. This year we’ll be inviting our Veteran friends and Seniors in our community, as well as parishioners. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday – traditionally a time for using up all the butter/oil/sweets in the house – hence the pancakes! $5 per person/$20 maxmum per husehold/kids under age 3 are free. Sign up on the sheet in the Narthex so we know you are coming. And if you would like to help cook/set-up/serve, please also indicate that on the sign-up sheet.
Sunday Night Supper: Chili Cook-Off & Game Night – March 31, 5 pm-7 pm in the Parish House Lower Room. Bring your best chili, cornbread, and favorite board game! For the whole family. A great time to have some fun and relaxation with your fellow parishioners. Sign up on the sheet in the Narthex and put it on your calendar...and bring a friend or neighbor!

Lenten Program: Discover Your Spiritual Gifts
Weds., March 13 & 20, April 3 – 7:00-8:30 pm in the Rath House. God gifts us all gifts to use for God’s purposes and for the good of others. Come and find out what your spiritual gifts are and explore ways that you might use them. The last session will include Asset Mapping – a tool to discover and connect with assets in our wider community. Sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.
Narnia Book Club discussion takes place this Sunday during coffee hour! We are reading “The Magician’s Nephew” from The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Brochures with a reading schedule are on the book case in our Narnia Corner near the choir stalls. You can also participate on-line via the One Parish/One Book group on All Saints’ Facebook page. Copies of the book are available there for $5. Speak to Alison Siener Brown or Mother Vicki if you have questions. Hope you’ll jump in and read with us!
Bible Study meets on Wednesdays at 10:15 am in the Rath House. We are reading and discussing the Gospel of Mark – this week, Chapter 13. We’d love to have you join us. Questions? Speak to Mother Vicki.

CHRISTIAN PRACTICES
At this end of the Season after Pentecost the Gospel reading is always the Transfiguration of Jesus. One of the themes of Transfiguration is worship, when Peter, James, and John see God’s glory in Jesus for the first time, and worship him.
The priest and poet George Herbert (1593-1633), whose day in the liturgical calendar is Feb. 27, often gave voice to the worship of God out of very human and personal circumstances – each and every day. The following poem is the text of our hymn #382.
King of glory, King of peace,
I will love Thee;
and that love may never cease,
I will move Thee.
Thou hast granted my request,
Thou hast heard me;
Thou didst note my working breast,
Thou hast spared me.
Wherefore with my utmost art
I will sing Thee;
and the cream of all my heart,
I will bring Thee.
Though my sins against me cried,
Thou didst clear me;
and alone, when they replied,
Thou didst hear me.
Seven whole days, not one in seven,
I will praise Thee;
in my heart, though not in heaven,
I can raise Thee.
Small it is, in this poor sort
to enroll Thee;
e'en eternity's too short
to extol Thee.
