Happy Summer to you all. Please take a look at the week’s announcements, in particular:
- Rummage Sale Sign-ups (Stewardship)
- Hymn Sings (Worship)
- Parish Work Day (Stewardship)
- Listening (Christian Practices)
Summer Hymn Sings - on Sundays through July we’ll begin our 10 am services with a Hymn Sing. That means you get to suggest a favorite hymn and we’ll all sing a verse or two. The tradition of summertime Hymn Sings is part of the American Protestant side of our spiritual heritage, reflecting the joy of gathering to sing God’s praises in a more relaxed and informal way. Come and lend your voice and heart!
Morning Prayer – next Sunday, June 30. Our worship will be Morning Prayer at both services, led by the Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs). Sister Monica Clare will be the preacher at the 10 am service. Mother Vicki will be spending the weekend helping her mother-in-law move out of her apartment.
CHRISTIAN FORMATION
Bible Study Bible Study this week, Wed. at 10:15 am in the Rath House. We’ll discuss Chapters 10 & 11 of Simply Christian: Why Christianity Makes Sense by N.T. Wright –“Living by the Spirit” & “Worship”. Questions? Speak to Mother Vicki.
STEWARDSHIP
Parish Work Day, Saturday, July 14, 9 am-12 noon. Please come and help for an hour...or three. What needs doing? Clearing out window wells on the parking lot side of the Church, cleaning out the garage, emptying the playground shed of scrap metal and taking it to recycling, tidying up the patio next to the Parish House, general weeding, cleaning/organizing the Parish House kitchen. If we get a good turnout we can get a lot done. Kids can help, too! Bring work gloves and helpful yard/garden tools. Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex to let us know you can help. Thanks!
The Rummage Sale is Coming! September 28! And we need your help. This is a multi-purpose event: our biggest fund-raiser; an outreach for families on a tight budget; a community festival; and an environmental ministry to help reuse, recycle, and keep items out of the landfill. The volunteer sign-up poster is in the Narthex. Need more info? Speak to Kimberly Celeste.
We start accepting rummage donations on August 4. Let your neighbors know. And invite a friend to join you – it’s more fun that way, and gets others involved. Thanks!

CHRISTIAN PRACTICES
LISTENING – Listening is sometimes hard to do. Our minds are so full, our schedules are so busy, the background noise and static of our culture is so loud that we often can’t or don’t stop and quiet ourselves and take time to listen. To whom should we be listening? To our family and friends, to our neighbors, to our own souls, and – most importantly – to God. Summer is a great time to slow down a bit, take a breath, and listen. And our Bishop Carlye Hughes has a great vlog (video blog) this week on listening to the Holy Spirit. Take a listen. https://youtu.be/bZ3USVyD1s8
Blessings, Vicki+
