Dear Friends in Christ,

This Sunday, June 29 is Social Media Sunday. What is it? Started by two Episcopal Church communications volunteers, the idea is simply this: if even a minority of the Episcopalians who use social media all post about their churches on Sunday, millions of our friends and family will learn something about The Episcopal Church. It's evangelism going viral.

It’s simple – be a 'social media ambassador" for All Saints’ by posting a photo from church on Facebook, putting a church-related tweet or photo with the hashtag #Episcopal on Twitter or Instagram, or checking into church on Foursquare. Feel free to take a photo before, during (minus the flash!), or after worship and then share it on your social media sites. Be sure to include “All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Millington, NJ” somewhere in the post. Don’t do social media? No worries; take a photo and send it to a friend or family member. And if you can’t be at church on Sunday, you can still participate by posting, tweeting, etc. without a new photo.

You can find some more ideas and resources for Social Media Sunday here: episcopalshare.org. You can also join (and invite your Episco-peeps to) the Facebook event #Episcopal Social Media Sunday.

Rummage Sale – September 20! Our biggest annual parish fundraiser needs all hands on deck…and we need your rummage! Rummage Drop-off will begin Sunday, August 3 in the Parish Hall. What help do we need? Here’s our top ten list:
1) Set up tables in Parish Hall on 8/2 to receive rummage
2) Price and sort (in air-conditioning!)
3) Kid wrangler on day of sale
4) Clean up after sale – lots of help needed!
5) Deliver left-over rummage to other charities
6) Selling – 3 shifts: 9-11 am; 11 am-1 pm; 1-3 pm.
7) Bake Sale – bakers and sellers
8) Food table staff (hot dogs, coffee, chili, etc.)
9) Publicity, including hosting a Sale sign on your lawn
10) New this year - Chili “cook off” to sell at the food table!
Sign-up poster for volunteers is in the Narthex. And please start setting aside your well-used, reasonable clean, useful rummage. If you have questions please speak with Kimberly Celeste or Charlotte Davis.

Snow and Heating – Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our “Snow Fund”, helping us to off-set the $7000 budget deficit caused by this winter’s extreme expenses. We are close to our goal! If 14 more contributions of $80 each come in, we will make up the whole $7000! If you are able to help and have not yet donated, you

FORMATION
Christian Arts Camp – July 7-11! 2:00-5:00 pm. We’ll spend the week working on a musical: “Table for 5…Thousand”. For kids who have completed Grades 1-8. Cost is $40 per family and includes the cost of a CD to help you learn the music. There is still time to sign up...and bring a friend. Flyer/registration forms are on the Narthex table. For more information contact Alison Siener Brown, asienerbrown@gmail.com. And we need some supplies: a very large cardboard box/packing crate; someone to build us a scene backdrop frame. It can be made out of wood or PVC pipe – anything we can stretch fabric over and paint on. Please speak to Mother Vicki if you can help with this.

Wednesday Bible Study Group, 10:15-11:30 am in the Rath House.  We start a new topic this week: The Parables of Jesus. We’ll read and discuss some of the stories that Jesus used for teaching, and they way they apply to our lives today. The remaining dates of this are: 7/2, 7/9, 7/16. Newcomers to Bible reading are welcomed and encouraged. We’ll provide you with a Bible if you need one. Come and try us out! Questions? Speak to Mother Vicki.

Refreshment Hosts Needed! Please be sure to join us for a cool drink and snacks on the Parish House lawn after the 10 am service. And we are looking for a host for our refreshments on July 13. Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex. Questions? Speak to John McGrath

Small Saints Arts Workshop, August 28, for Kids age 4-8; 9 am-12 noon. Music, crafts, snacks and games; $5 per family. A fun way to spend a summer morning before school starts! There’s a flyer on the table in the Narthex.

Support Your Family’s Faith and Spiritual Growth at home! Vibrant Faith Ministries offers a website full of prayers, articles, activities, blogs, rituals and more for families of all ages and stages – Vibrant Faith at Home: www.vibrantfaithathome.org. It is an ecumenical Christian endeavor, supported by a wide variety of main-line churches, including the Episcopal Church. This is a great year-round resource, but especially helpful during the summer when Sunday School is on break. Explore the website and see how it can work for your family!

Women’s Book Group was rescheduled to July 16 at 7:30 pm in the Rath House.  The book for discussion will be The Invention of Wings, by Sue Monk Kidd.  Come for a fun evening of friendship and discussion.

WORSHIP
Summer Choir “Try It” - On Sunday, July 27, all singers are invited to sing in a special summer choir.  You do not need to be a regular member of the choir to sing this day.  We'll meet at 9:00am on that Sunday morning to learn an anthem that we will sing in worship the same day.  No long term commitment or previous choral experience is needed!  If you like to sing, please come join us!  For more information, contact Alison Siener Brown.

Junior Choir Open House
- August 28, 5:00-6:30 pm. For boys and girls grade 2 and older. Does your child love to sing? Would you like him or her to learn the basics of music, make friends, be part of a supportive community and have fun? Come and learn more about our Junior Choir and have a chance to try it out – and bring a friend! For more info contact Alison Siener Brown.

Guest Organist – Alison and her family are still on vacation this Sunday. Our guest organist will be Carolyn Koch. Carolyn has been a good friend to All Saints’, and we are very pleased she will be with us at the 10 am service. Please be sure to greet her. Thank you, Carolyn!

HELPING HANDS

Summer Community Blood Drive, Sunday, July 27 in the Parish Hall from 11am-3pm. In the summer months, blood supplies are typically very low. Give blood & the gift of life, just as God has given you new life! We also need some people to offer hospitality to our donors, and bakers to provide some post-donation snacks. Sign-up on the sheet in the Narthex to donate and/or volunteer to help. Invite your neighbors, too!

Food for Friends – the food pantry at St. John’s, Dover is a year round ministry. Families with children are particularly in need during the summer when school is out and the school breakfast and lunch programs are not available. What is needed? Rice, beans (canned and dried), tuna, canned vegetables and fruit, juice boxes, parmalaat milk, crackers, canned soups, stews, mac & cheese, peanut butter, jelly, dried fruit  – anything non-perishable and nutritious. Thank you; your contributions make a difference to hungry people!

Knitting Ministry – We knit hats and scarves for the Christmas-at-Sea program at Seaman’s Church Institute. Remember we collect yarn—so in your travels please pick up yarn from friends/relatives or in your yard sale ventures. Deeper, masculine colors are most appreciated! And new knitters/crocheters are always welcome; we have patterns and can provide you with yarn. For more info speak to Janet Mansfield.
