Thank you for a good Annual Meeting. There was certainly a lot of good energy in the room when Beth led the Asset-Based listening exercise on “What do you care about most.” Everyone had something to say! If you didn’t get to the meeting, you can still pick up a copy of the Annual Report in the Narthex. Also, I’ll be sending out the Rector’s Report and the Wardens’ Report in another e-mail. I hope you will read them both, not only to get a review of what we have done in this past year, but also to get a clearer sense of where we are going. And now for the announcements…
This Sunday at 10 am the service will be Morning Prayer (Eucharist at 8 am). Come and sing some of the wonderful old Anglican chant canticles of our tradition. Sunday School classes will run about 15minutes longer this week, before the kids come into church for worship. Next week’s 10 am service will be a Family Service, with more involvement for children than usual.
Inquirer’s Class for Adults starts this Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 pm in the Rath House., and continue on 2/8, 2/29 and 3/7. Whether you are new to All Saints’ or the Episcopal Church, or are a long-timer and want a refresher, you are welcome to come and learn what our Church stands for, how it expresses Christian faith, its history and organization. If you are interested in being confirmed or formally received into the Church from another Christian tradition this is the class for you! Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex or e-mail or speak to one of the clergy if you would like to know more.

The repair/rebuilding of the Parish House lower level is moving along. The dry wall is done, including the new boxed in area in the kitchen for the water heater. The contractors Scoot and Zach will be here every day next week, and then the bathroom floor will be laid, and the new doors will be hung. Painting can then begin. The next step will be the kitchen installation. The work has gone very well, and our construction crew has been great to work with. All of the restoration has been paid for by our insurance company – thank you, Church Insurance!
Pick up your 2012 Pledge Envelopes and Kid’s Offering Envelopes that are on the table in the Narthex. We will not be mailing these due to the high cost of postage, so please be sure to pick them up.
“Souper Bowl Sunday” February 5! Our Rite-13 class will be collecting canned goods and cash donations for the Food for Friends pantry at both services on this day, as part of a national effort for teens to make a difference for hungry people. When you go to the store for your chips, dips and snacks for the game, pick up something for the food barrel as well. Thanks.
Women’s Book Group is reading The Dirty Life by Kristen Kimball, who gave up her city life as a writer to start an organic community farm with her husband. The group will meet on Wednesday, February 15 at 7:30 pm in the Rath House. Come for good conversation and fellowship – no gardening or farming experience required!
~ Stewardship is everything we do after we say “I believe.” ~
may your light shine our way,
as once it guided the steps of the magi:
that we too may be led into your presence
and worship you,
the Child of Mary,
the Word of the Father,
the King of nations,
the Saviour of mankind;
to whom be glory for ever.
