We have classes for kids in PreK through high school.
Up through fifth grade the curriculum is Weaving God's Promises. Middle schoolers use Rite-13, and the high school class this fall (2014) will be using Scott McKnight's book The Jesus Creed for Students.
Sunday School meets at 10 am (except on the first Sunday of the month). Children in Grade 2 and older join their families in worship at the Peace (about 10:40 am). Our youngest class begins their session with worship in their classroom.
Eucharist Instruction Class for 2nd graders are offered in Easter season for children to learn more about the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Fun Events Throughout the Year include an Ice Cream Social, Trunk or Treat, St. Nicholas Sunday, Nativity Pageant, Epiphany Party with a Pinata, Bowling Party, East Egg Hunt and Banner Making, Year-end Pageant, Parish Picnic.
Our kids and teens share their talents with the parish community!
The first Sunday of the month children, youth and adults worship together at the 10 am service. Their is a kids' homily, a youth reader for the Scripture lesson, and we have prayers for birthdays and anniversaries. When there is Family Worship there is no Sunday School.
Scouting at All Saints'
All Saints' is the chartering organization for Boy Scout Troop 56 and Cub Scout Pack 56, both of Long Hill Township. The Troop Committee and various Cub dens meet here. Girl Scout troops and the Long Hill Township Girl Scout Leaders also gather at All Saints'. On the first Sunday in March we hold and annual Scout Sunday. We are also blessed by volunteer efforts that various Scout groups offer back to the Church.
Our high school students serve as acolytes and readers, and offer service and leadership to the parish in many ways. Twice a month they meet for class or activities.
Confirmation classes are offered for young people in either Grade 9 or 10. It is an opportunity for teens to explore faith, ask questions and make some choices for themselves. Confirmation takes place during Easter season at Trinity and St. Philip's Cathedral in Newark.
A Prayer for Young People
God our Father, you see your children growing up in an
unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways
give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
